Hi, I have booked tickets to “the great gatsby” on 25th June. My seats are in Upper circle. I was hoping to understand if it is wheelchair accessible?

Most London theatres sadly don’t have wheelchair access to the upper circle. It’s almost always stalls or a dedicated accessible area. Best to ring the box office so they can re-seat you.

For “The Great Gatsby,” I assume you’re seeing it at the Immersive LDN venue (near Bond Street)? If so, the good news is that the show is staged in a flexible performance space rather than a traditional theatre. This means they have level access for wheelchair users, accessible toilets, and dedicated staff to assist. However, seating in the upper circle specifically won’t be accessible. Accessible seating is almost always provided at ground or stalls level.

I would absolutely recommend contacting the venue’s box office directly. They can reallocate your seats to a suitable accessible location and ensure everything is set up for your visit. Theatres are generally very accommodating once they know your requirements, and some will even allow a free companion ticket if you require assistance.

For accessibility at the London Coliseum, or any West End theatre, the best course of action is always to contact the venue\’s box office or access team directly. They are incredibly knowledgeable about their specific theatre\’s layout, accessible seating options, and any services they provide (like accessible toilets, step-free access routes, or assistance for patrons with specific needs). While many older theatres have limitations, they are usually very accommodating and can ensure you have the best possible experience. Always check the theatre\’s official website for a dedicated accessibility section, as this often provides detailed information and contact numbers to call.
