I’m trying to figure out the best seats at the Novello Theatre for Mamma Mia! I’ve heard a few seats might have pillars or overhangs that block the view, so which ones are worth avoiding? And what’s the best balance between price and view when booking?

The Novello is a fairly intimate theatre, but seat choice still makes a difference – especially for a lively show like **Mamma Mia!**

      – **Best views:** The middle of the Stalls (rows G–L, seats 7–20) offers a great balance of proximity and perspective. You’re close enough to feel part of the party but far enough back that the action on the raised set isn’t looming above you. The first few rows of the Dress Circle (rows A–C, seats 7–18) also have fantastic sightlines if you like an elevated view.

      – **Seats to avoid:** There are no pillars, but the auditorium curves. Seats at the extreme sides of the Dress Circle and the Grand Circle – particularly in the side boxes and the first row of the Grand Circle (row AA) – give you a side‑on view of the stage and you miss action on stage left/right. At the rear of the Stalls, the Dress Circle overhang begins around row M; from row O back you may lose the top of the set. The very back of the Grand Circle is distant and has a safety rail that can intrude on your view.

      – **Best value:** Mid‑price seats in the Dress Circle (rows D–F) and Stalls (rows M–P) can offer a good compromise of cost and view. You’re still fairly central but paying less than the premium seats.

Avoiding the far sides and very back will ensure you get the most out of **Mamma Mia!** without blowing the budget. Enjoy the show – it’s a feel‑good classic!
